Goanna Ag partners with Queensland government to empower growers with free telemetry devices in the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin

Goanna Ag, a leading provider of agricultural technology solutions, is thrilled to announce its involvement in the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin telemetry project. In collaboration with the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (the department), this ground-breaking initiative is set to streamline water management for Queensland water entitlement holders.

The department has secured funding from the Australian Government to support water users in the installation of compliant telemetry devices on surface water meters within the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin, spanning the Lower Balonne, Condamine and Balonne, Upper Condamine, Stanthorpe, Moonie, and Condamine and Balonne Tributaries regions. As part of this initiative, growers will have the opportunity to receive telemetry devices for their surface water meters, free of charge. This includes not only the device itself but also professional installation services and the first year of data services.

The Queensland Murray-Darling Basin telemetry project is designed to address the pressing need for growers to remain compliant with water usage regulations while simplifying the reporting of water take. Tom Dowling, Chief Operating Officer of Goanna Ag says, “Goanna Ag's participation in this endeavour is a testament to our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that empower farmers to enhance their operations and conserve vital resources.”

By embracing telemetry devices, Queensland growers can look forward to the following benefits:

  • Streamlined farming operations: Telemetry devices allow near real-time monitoring of water usage, enabling growers to make more informed decisions.

  • Time and cost savings: The automated data collection provided by telemetry devices reduces manual data entry, freeing up valuable time and reducing operational costs.

  • Enhanced data analytics: Access to accurate and comprehensive data fosters trust within the community by demonstrating adherence to legal regulations and license conditions.

This initiative presents a unique opportunity for Queensland growers to embrace cutting-edge technology and improve their water management practices. Goanna Ag is proud to be part of this collaborative effort that aims to make a positive impact on the agricultural community in the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin.
